ROBERT BARNETT, BSc
Robert Barnett is a dedicated museologist with over four decades of hands-on operational experience spanning five continents. He has visited over 1500 museums and studied aspects of more than 675 museums around the world. He has worked in, or directly with, virtually every department in a museum and led teams of designers, interpretive planners, policy developers, and provided logistical support for field teams in 15 countries. His passion for museums and their collections led to a 30 year hands-on career in the field before founding the UK-based firm Cultural Innovations and later Museum Planning Partners representing an additional 15 years of international consulting. Robert always looks to work closely with clients to create innovative solutions based in real world operational reality.
HUGH SPENCER, MA, MMSt
Hugh Spencer offers more than three decades of experience in the cultural planning field and has had the privilege of working with clients from around the world and with organizations of many different scales and types. With over one hundred museum projects under his belt, Hugh has crafted everything from strategic plans to interpretive scripts for visitor experiences and has collaborated with academics, architects, stakeholders, and exhibit designers around the globe. Hugh enjoys working closely with clients from the inception of an idea to the successful delivery of the project.
LINDA PEARCEY, MA, MMSt
Linda Pearcey is a strategic thinker who brings operational insight and structure to all of MPP’s projects. Believing that museums and heritage centres are catalysts for both personal and community enrichment, Linda has been involved with every facet of museum planning, development, and operations – everything from business planning to operational planning; feasibility studies to strategic plans; and functional analysis to facility assessments. Based on her years of museum work Linda brings deep understanding into helping clients realize their projects which have a profound impact on both the national and international landscape.
NICK BORCESCU, BArch., D.L. Arch.
With university degrees in architecture and landscape architecture, Nick Borcescu serves as MPP’s facilities planner and exhibit designer. Nick has worked on international projects that strive to improve visitors and materials circulation within existing structures, and also works on planning additions, renovations, and new construction projects with the aim of maximizing the visitor experience. Nick’s strengths lie in visual presentations of 2D and 3D conceptual massing diagrams, space planning layouts, facilities masterplans, exhibit design and detailing, and project management deliverables.
